Our Work in Recreation

We have direct experience in helping design recreation centers, innovative programs such as patented summer passes to create more traffic into the system, and operating them for financial stability.

Key Factors

The main factor in building and operating a recreation or a community center is to know in advance what the ultimate goal of the facility is. This lays the groundwork for what approach to take in achieving that goal.

The other factor to keep in mind is to know where the next dollar is going to come from and how best to cut operational costs, while raising revenues without compromising the service levels. Then consider what separates the ones who are appreciated and receive recreation support from those who fail or putter along into obscurity.

The one factor that typically begs for attention in Recreation is the mere satisfaction of serving the same group of people each day without thinking about growing that offering to include more members of the community. Thus, having an understanding of public service is important and should be imbued early on.

The PNR Analysis

Within the realm of recreation, it is not always necessary that a large, expensive facility is the best way to engage the community. Rather, it is how you program the building and maximize the use of the program(s) hours available - through innovation and drive.

In growing a team to effectively develop recreational programs, there is a need to be nimble and flexible because no two days are alike and a proactive approach will save lives, cuts costs, create innovation, and allow for the development of an organizational culture that will stand the test of time.
